Push Piers

HYDRAULICALLY DRIVEN PUSH PIER SYSTEMS

Push piers are factory-manufactured steel, deep foundation solutions designed to stabilize existing structures against further settlement and/or provide support for additional loading conditions. Able to drive deep into the earth to bedrock or solid supporting strata, they offer an appropriate solution for homes and heavy structures.

Because they install with very little friction, they can penetrate deeply without warping or bending. Push piers are also able to be used in low-impact interior installations.

HOW THE PUSH PIER SYSTEM WORKS

Our push pier system utilizes a retrofit bracket and high-strength round steel tube sections to transfer the structural load to deep, competent bearing material. The bracket is secured against and below the existing footing (sideload bracket), directly underneath the footing (concentric bracket), to the side of the footing or foundation wall (flush-mount bracket), or below concrete slabs (slab bracket).

Tube sections are hydraulically driven through the drive stand and bracket and into the soil below using the combined structural weight and any contributory soil load as the reaction.

PUSH PIER SYSTEM ADVANTAGES

  • End bearing pier that does not rely on skin friction for capacity
  • Portable equipment allows for installation in areas of limited access
  • Piers are individually load-tested during installation
  • System design allows for lifting of settled structures
  • Factors of safety typically range from 1.5 to 3
  • Galvanized pier sections for added corrosion protection
